Artist's Studio
A single volume studio space, designed in close collaboration with the owner, visual artist Ragna Róbertsdóttir. Situated in the back-corner of a lot on the main shopping street in Reykjavik, the studio is built up against property walls in two sides. The materials, exposed concrete and corrugated sheet metal, are both typical for the urban fabric of Reykjav’k, but the stark, austere simplicity and refinement of detail gives the project a sense of uniqueness in the local context.
Shortlisted for the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion Award for European Architecture 1996.
Vinnustofa listamanns
Vinnustofa hönnuð í nánu samstarfi við eigandann, Rögnu Róbertsdóttur myndlistarkonu. Vinnustofan stendur á baklóð við Laugaveg og á tvo veggi að öðrum húsum. Notuð voru byggingarefni sem eru dæmigerð fyrir Reykvíska byggð; sjónsteypa og bárujárn, en stílhreint yfirbragð hússins og formfastur einfaldleiki þess veita því sérstöðu í umhverfinu.
